About Evergreen Edventure
Evergreen Edventure is a small but growing, secular and inclusive home education group rooted in curiosity, connection, and community.
The idea for Evergreen Edventure came from wanting a homeschool community that was flexible and not limited by belief, a single meeting place, or a co-op structure. In addition to a good park day, we enjoy swimming, field trips, and enrichment activities alongside opportunities that touch on core subjects in fun, engaging ways. Our group brings families together for park days, outings, and activities by offering chances to connect, explore, and make friends along the way.
Our values include:
-
Respecting diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and beliefs
-
Building friendships and safe community spaces
-
Welcoming all kinds of learners - academically, emotionally, and socially
-
Encouraging curiosity, compassion, and lifelong learning
Evergreen Edventure is not faith-based, but we welcome those of all or no religious or spiritual backgrounds. We do not center faith in our activities, and we ask all members to help maintain a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
We’re glad to be a group where families can come together, join in when it works for them, and enjoy the adventure of learning and exploring.
FAQ
Are you a co-op?
Nope. We're a community group, not a formal co-op. We don't require parent teaching assignments or set curriculum. Instead, we focus on meetups, field trips, and shared activities where families can connect and learn as it fits.
Is this a drop-off group?
No - parents (guardian or other responsible adult) must stay on site with their children. We are not a childcare service.
Do you charge fees?
There is no membership fee to join at this time. Some events may have supply costs or entry fees, which will be posted in each event / activity.
How many activities / events do I need to attend?
As many or as few as work for your family! There are no attendance requirements - if an activity is interesting to you and you kid, sign up. If not, skip it. We know schedules (and life) can be busy, so join in when it fits
Where are you located?
We are based out of Knob Noster, MO, but families from anywhere are welcome to join. While many of our activities happen locally, we're not limited by city boundaries. Our adventures could take us all over... nearby towns, larger cities, museums, nature spots, or event the occasional bigger trip.
What if I sign up for a paid activity / event and can't make it?
Paid events and activities are non-refundable. Many activities require advanced payment based on number of participants, so once spots are reserved, we can't issue refunds if your family can't attend.
Can I bring siblings, friends, other family?
Yes, they're welcome! Just keep in mind that most activities are planned for ages 10 and up, so younger children may not be able to fully participate. Parents are expected to stay with their kids and step out with them if needed so the activity can continue smoothly for everyone.
For paid events and activities, any additional guests are responsible for covering their own costs. Age guidelines or restrictions will always be listed in the event description, and we ask families to respect those guidelines.
